We present a novel learning technique to infer teams' final plans directly from a processed form of their planning conversation. Our method employs reinforcement learning to train a model that maps features of the discussed plan and patterns of dialogue exchange among participants to a final, agreed-upon plan. We employ planning domain models to efficiently search the large space of possible plans, and the costs of candidate plans serve as the reinforcement signal. We demonstrate that our technique successfully infers plans within a variety of challenging domains, with higher accuracy than prior art. With our domain-independent feature set, we empirically demonstrate that our model trained on one planning domain can be applied to successfully infer team plans within a novel planning domain.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.24963\/ijcai.2018\/663","type":"proceedings-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2018,7,5]],"date-time":"2018-07-05T05:49:10Z","timestamp":1530769750000},"page":"4771-4779","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["Learning to Infer Final Plans in Human Team Planning"],"prefix":"10.24963","author":[{"given":"Joseph","family":"Kim","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Matthew E.","family":"Woicik","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Matthew C.","family":"Gombolay","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"MIT Lincoln Laboratory"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Sung-Hyun","family":"Son","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"MIT Lincoln Laboratory"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Julie A.","family":"Shah","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"10584","event":{"number":"27","sponsor":["International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization (IJCAI)"],"acronym":"IJCAI-2018","name":"Twenty-Seventh International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence {IJCAI-18}","start":{"date-parts":[[2018,7,13]]},"theme":"Artificial Intelligence","location":"Stockholm, Sweden","end":{"date-parts":[[2018,7,19]]}},"container-title":["Proceedings of the Twenty-Seventh International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2018,7,5]],"date-time":"2018-07-05T05:55:03Z","timestamp":1530770103000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.ijcai.org\/proceedings\/2018\/663"}},"subtitle":[],"proceedings-subject":"Artificial Intelligence Research Articles","short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2018,7]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.24963\/ijcai.2018\/663","relation":{},"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2018,7]]}}}
