However, it is particularly challenging to learn a class-invariant  spatial-temporal representation in such a setting. To address this, we propose a novel matching-based few-shot learning strategy for video sequences in this work. Our main idea is to introduce an implicit temporal alignment for a video pair, capable of estimating the similarity between them in an accurate and robust manner. Moreover, we design an effective context encoding module to incorporate spatial and feature channel context, resulting in better modeling of intra-class variations. To train our model, we develop a multi-task loss for learning video matching, leading to video features with better generalization. Extensive experimental results on two challenging benchmarks, show that our method outperforms the prior arts with a sizable margin on Something-Something-V2 and competitive results on Kinetics.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.24963\/ijcai.2021\/181","type":"proceedings-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2021,8,11]],"date-time":"2021-08-11T07:00:49Z","timestamp":1628665249000},"page":"1309-1315","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":49,"title":["Learning Implicit Temporal Alignment for Few-shot Video Classification"],"prefix":"10.24963","author":[{"given":"Songyang","family":"Zhang","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"ShanghaiTech University"},{"name":"University of Chinese Academy of Sciences"},{"name":"Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Jiale","family":"Zhou","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Shanghaitech University"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Xuming","family":"He","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"ShanghaiTech University"},{"name":"Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Intelligent Vision and Imaging"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"10584","event":{"name":"Thirtieth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence {IJCAI-21}","theme":"Artificial Intelligence","location":"Montreal, Canada","acronym":"IJCAI-2021","number":"30","sponsor":["International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization (IJCAI)"],"start":{"date-parts":[[2021,8,19]]},"end":{"date-parts":[[2021,8,27]]}},"container-title":["Proceedings of the Thirtieth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2021,8,11]],"date-time":"2021-08-11T07:01:49Z","timestamp":1628665309000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.ijcai.org\/proceedings\/2021\/181"}},"subtitle":[],"proceedings-subject":"Artificial Intelligence Research Articles","short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2021,8]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.24963\/ijcai.2021\/181","relation":{},"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2021,8]]}}}
