In this paper, we propose to tackle DIS with informative frequency priors. Our model, called FP-DIS, stems from the fact that prior knowledge in the frequency domain can provide valuable cues to identify fine-grained object boundaries. Specifically, we propose a frequency prior generator to jointly utilize a fixed filter and learnable filters to extract informative frequency priors. Before embedding the frequency priors into the network, we first harmonize the multi-scale side-out features to reduce their heterogeneity. This is achieved by our feature harmonization module, which is based on a gating mechanism to harmonize the grouped features. Finally, we propose a frequency prior embedding module to embed the frequency priors into multi-scale features through an adaptive modulation strategy. Extensive experiments on the benchmark dataset, DIS5K, demonstrate that our FP-DIS outperforms state-of-the-art methods by a large margin in terms of key evaluation metrics.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.24963\/ijcai.2023\/202","type":"proceedings-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2023,8,11]],"date-time":"2023-08-11T08:31:30Z","timestamp":1691742690000},"page":"1822-1830","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":16,"title":["Dichotomous Image Segmentation with Frequency Priors"],"prefix":"10.24963","author":[{"given":"Yan","family":"Zhou","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Zhejiang University"},{"name":"Northwestern Polytechnical University"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Bo","family":"Dong","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Zhejiang University"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Yuanfeng","family":"Wu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Zhejiang Lab"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Wentao","family":"Zhu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Zhejiang Lab"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Geng","family":"Chen","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Northwestern Polytechnical University"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Yanning","family":"Zhang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Northwestern Polytechnical University"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"10584","event":{"name":"Thirty-Second International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence {IJCAI-23}","theme":"Artificial Intelligence","location":"Macau, SAR China","acronym":"IJCAI-2023","number":"32","sponsor":["International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization (IJCAI)"],"start":{"date-parts":[[2023,8,19]]},"end":{"date-parts":[[2023,8,25]]}},"container-title":["Proceedings of the Thirty-Second International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2023,8,11]],"date-time":"2023-08-11T08:40:51Z","timestamp":1691743251000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.ijcai.org\/proceedings\/2023\/202"}},"subtitle":[],"proceedings-subject":"Artificial Intelligence Research Articles","short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2023,8]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.24963\/ijcai.2023\/202","relation":{},"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2023,8]]}}}
