{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2026,7,18]],"date-time":"2026-07-18T16:33:53Z","timestamp":1784392433433,"version":"3.55.0"},"publisher-location":"California","reference-count":0,"publisher":"International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization","content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":[],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2024,11]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Quantitative bipolar argumentation frameworks (QBAFs) have various \n\napplications in areas like product recommendation, review aggregation\n\nand explaining machine learning models. QBAF semantics assign a \n\nstrength to every argument that is based on an a priori belief and the \n\nstrength of its attackers and supporters. Intuitively, a QBAF semantics \n\nis open-minded when it is unbiased in the sense that a priori beliefs \n\ncan be given up eventually when sufficient arguments to the contrary \n\nare presented. While this behaviour is desirable in many applications, \n\nexisting open-minded semantics also have the property that even very \n\nweak arguments will eventually eliminate the a priori beliefs. In this \n\npaper, we will study notions of conservativeness that demand that the deviation\n\nfrom the a priori beliefs is bounded by the strength of pro and contra \n\narguments. We will discuss compatibility and conflicts with existing \n\nproperties and present two new semantics with interesting semantical \n\nguarantees.
