The social meaning, formal definition, and formal\noperationalization of \u201cneighborhood\u201d depends on the study or application, however, so\nneighborhood analysis and modeling requires both flexibility and adherence to a formal\npipeline. Maintaining that balance is challenging for a variety of reasons. To address\nthose challenges, <jats:monospace>geosnap<\/jats:monospace>, the Geospatial Neighborhood Analysis Package provides a\nsuite of tools for exploring, modeling, and visualizing the social context and spatial\nextent of neighborhoods and regions over time. It brings together state-of-the-art\ntechniques from geodemographics, regionalization, spatial data science, and\nsegregation analysis to support social science research, public policy analysis, and\nurban planning.
