Lett., vol. 75]. Local cyclic unitaries have the special property that they leave their target subsystem invariant. We investigate the distance between $\\rho$ and the global state after local application of such unitaries as a possible indicator of entanglement. To this end, we derive and discuss closed formulae for the maximal such distance achievable for three cases of interest: (pseudo)pure quantum states, Werner states, and two-qubit states. What makes this criterion interesting, as we show here, is that it surprisingly displays behavior similar to recent anomalies observed for non-locality measures in higher dimensions, as well as demonstrates an equivalence to the CHSH inequality for certain classes of two-qubit states. Yet, despite these similarities, the criterion is not itself a non-locality measure. We also consider entanglement detection in bound entangled states.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.26421\/qic9.11-12-6","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2021,3,9]],"date-time":"2021-03-09T01:16:06Z","timestamp":1615252566000},"page":"1013-1029","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":6,"title":["On global effects caused by locally noneffective unitary operations"],"prefix":"10.26421","volume":"9","author":[{"given":"S.","family":"Gharibian","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"H.","family":"Kampermann","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"D.","family":"Bruss","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"10955","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2009,11]]},"container-title":["Quantum Information and Computation"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2021,3,9]],"date-time":"2021-03-09T01:16:12Z","timestamp":1615252572000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"http:\/\/www.rintonpress.com\/journals\/doi\/QIC9.11-12-6.html"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2009,11]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"11&12","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2009,11]]},"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2009,11]]}},"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.26421\/qic9.11-12-6","relation":{},"ISSN":["1533-7146","1533-7146"],"issn-type":[{"value":"1533-7146","type":"print"},{"value":"1533-7146","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2009,11]]}}}
