This area has not been explored as yet.\n\nMethodology: A simple random sample of 98 males and 88 females was collected anonymously through a Google form survey. Part A collected demographic data and Part B comprised of 15 statements with 5 each for compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction, and burn-out, adapted from a Compassion Fatigue\/Satisfaction Self-Test. ANOVA single factor was employed for the three variables of compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction, and burn-out using a 0.05 significance level. Correlations among the variables were also analyzed.\n\nContribution: The present paper contributes to covering the research gap of investigating the presence of compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction, and burn-out among the population at large comprising the age group of 18 to 60+ and from different professions.\n\nFindings: The findings revealed significant differences in the levels of compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction, and burn-out in the population at large during the pandemic.\n\nFuture Research: The findings can be further strengthened by extending it to a larger sample size across different nations and, specifically, studying gender differences during such adverse pandemic situations.\n\n<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.28945\/4930","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2022,3,21]],"date-time":"2022-03-21T23:10:05Z","timestamp":1647904205000},"page":"111-122","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["The Presence of Compassion Satisfaction, Compassion Fatigue, and Burn-out Among the General Population During the COVID-19 Pandemic"],"prefix":"10.28945","volume":"25","author":[{"given":"Shivika","family":"Dutt","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Petroleum and Energy Studies India"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Vivek","family":"Arya","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Gurukula Kangri (Deemed to be University) Haridwar, india"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"11490","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2022]]},"container-title":["Informing Science: The International Journal of an Emerging Transdiscipline"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"http:\/\/www.inform.nu\/Articles\/Vol25\/ISJv25p111-122Dutt8049.pdf","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"http:\/\/www.inform.nu\/Articles\/Vol25\/ISJv25p111-122Dutt8049.pdf","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2022,3,21]],"date-time":"2022-03-21T23:10:06Z","timestamp":1647904206000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.informingscience.org\/Publications\/4930"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2022]]},"references-count":0,"alternative-id":["4930"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.28945\/4930","relation":{},"ISSN":["1547-9684","1521-4672"],"issn-type":[{"value":"1547-9684","type":"print"},{"value":"1521-4672","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2022]]}}}
