Though historically developed for<\/jats:p><jats:p>concurrent software, recent work has brought these methods to bear on motion<\/jats:p><jats:p>planning in robotics.  Challenges specific to robotics, such as uncertainty and<\/jats:p><jats:p>real-time constraints, have motivated extensions to existing methods and<\/jats:p><jats:p>entirely novel treatments.
