{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2025,12,11]],"date-time":"2025-12-11T20:52:40Z","timestamp":1765486360234},"reference-count":0,"publisher":"EasyChair","content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":[],"abstract":"<jats:p>The use of social media as an instrument for public institutions to provide in- formation and digital services to their citizens and promote their participation has become a common strategy in the scope of e-government. In this study, an empirical investigation of the diffusion of Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube among the local governments of the 22 cantons of the province of Manabi\u0301 (Ecuador) is presented.
