The implementation practices used are described and the benefits of\nthe project are demonstrated.\nDesign\/methodology\/approach: The article presents the process of designing a BI system,\nwhich took place in subsequent stages such as: defining business goals, identifying data sources\nand developing a data flow structure diagram, defining functional needs and the form of\npresentation of management data.\nFindings: The implementation of the BI environment in a healthcare facility brings the\nfollowing benefits: Support for decision-making processes in the hospital management area,\nensuring monitoring and analysis of the use of hospital resources, identifying the causes\naffecting the service time, risk management and data management.\nPractical implications: The paper presents the process of implementing a BI system in\nhealthcare facilities, indicates the validation and testing process, and demonstrates numerous\nadvantages of implementing a BI system.\nOriginality\/value: The study is a valuable material that can be used by both theoreticians and\npractitioners. The presented procedures can be successfully used in other industries to build\nBI systems.\nKeywords: Business Intelligence, BI, Decision Support Systems, Healthcare, Data Driven\nManagement, Big Data, IT tools.\nCategory of the paper: research paper.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.29119\/1641-3466.2024.206.5","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,12,23]],"date-time":"2024-12-23T17:33:31Z","timestamp":1734975211000},"page":"87-115","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["Use of business intelligence tools management in the example of in the healthcare sector"],"prefix":"10.29119","volume":"2024","author":[{"name":"Silesian University of Technology, Doctors' School","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-5289-055X","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Marcin","family":"Chabior","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-9724-5706","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Anna","family":"Bluszcz","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"name":"Department of Safety Engineering, Silesian University of Technology","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"11654","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2024]]},"container-title":["Scientific Papers of Silesian University of Technology.
