Circular Economy, the so-called \"green mining\", sustainable development or modern solutions in the mining industry are the buzzwords that have accompanied the mining industry in Europe for a long time. However, they are not conducive to a good image of this industry, which has a significant impact on the interest in working in this sector among young people, both among high school students, as well as university candidates and students of technical faculties. Therefore, everything should be done to improve this image, which can be done both by taking steps to improve technology at the mining and processing stage, but also by warming up the image of the mining industry at the education stage. This may contribute to a renewed interest in mining-related fields of study among the younger generation. Recently, AGH UST has been implementing two educational projects, financed by European funds under the Erasmus+ program. These are the Standardization and Digitization of Rescue Education in Mining projects (acronym: DigiRescueMe, project number 2021-1-TR01-KA220-VET-000028090, AGH UST as a partner) and Holographic Integration for Geosciences Education and Mining (acronym: HoloGEM, project number 2022-1-PL01- KA220-VET-000089946, AGH UST as a leader). The DigiRescueMe project will create a modern training system for mine rescuers, based on VR solutions and simulations. On the other hand, the overarching goal of the HoloGEM project is to create a modern basic course in the field of mining with the use of modern educational and visualization solutions.
