Phylogenetic relationships among European species of the clades \/Alboleptonia, \/Caeruleopolitum, \/Claudopus, \/Griseorubidum, \/Leptonia, \/Olivaceotinctum,\n \/Omphaliopsis, \/Pouzarella, \/Prunuloides, \/Sphagneti, \/Turfosa, \/Undulatosporum, \/Velenovskyi, and \/Vinaceum were inferred using 694 newly generated sequences derived from the nrDNA ITS region including 80 sequences from type specimens. Anticipating the second volume of a completely revised\n monograph of the genus\n                    <jats:italic>Entoloma<\/jats:italic>\n                    in Europe, unsuitable for molecular studies, viz.\n                    <jats:italic>E. araneosum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. byssisedum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. griseorubidum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. hirtum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. lanicum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. neglectum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. ollare<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. opacum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. plebejum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. resutum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. rusticoides<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. sericellum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. triste<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. undatum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. velenovskyi<\/jats:italic>\n                    , and\n                    <jats:italic>E. versatile<\/jats:italic>\n                    . New type sequences for\n                    <jats:italic>E. alliodorum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. asperum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. caeruleopolitum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. calaminare<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. canosericeum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. cettoi<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. cuboidoalbum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. indutoides<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. iodiolens<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. jahnii<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. milleri<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. moguntinum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. olivaceotinctum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. ostreatum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. polyangulatum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. pseudoconferendum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. pseudonigellum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. pseudosericeoides<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. ritae<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. sericeoides<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. sordidolamellatum<\/jats:italic>\n                    , and\n                    <jats:italic>E. undulatosporum<\/jats:italic>\n                    have been generated and deposited in GenBank. Twenty-nine species new to science are described and illustrated, viz.\n                    <jats:italic>E. albostriatum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. amabile<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. assimile<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. bresadolae<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. brunneostrigosum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E.\n chloridicolor<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. cassiopeia<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. chioneum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. cognatum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. cornatum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. eborinum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. ermineum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. fraudans<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. fusconigrum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. griseopulchrum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. hirsutum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. ludwigii<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. nanoalbum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. nix<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E.\n olivaceovirens<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. ostreatum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. paraindutoides<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. peraraneosum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. pilosum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. pumilionis<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. skadiae<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. umbrinotinctum<\/jats:italic>\n                    ,\n                    <jats:italic>E. vilae<\/jats:italic>\n                    , and\n                    <jats:italic>E. weiriorum<\/jats:italic>\n                    , and\n                    <jats:italic>Entoloma<\/jats:italic>\n                    sect.\n                    <jats:italic>Atricoloria<\/jats:italic>\n                    is described as new to science.\n The name\n                    <jats:italic>E. myochroum<\/jats:italic>\n                    is validated and the replacement name\n                    <jats:italic>E. cobaltichlorum<\/jats:italic>\n                    is proposed.
