Glaciol."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1999]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title><jats:p>In this paper we present a simulation approach to mapping avalanche risk with\n                    application to settlements in Iceland. Two simulation models are developed to\n                    calculate the probability of avalanches travelling a certain distance, and of\n                    the flow being a specific width.
