Durch den Wegfall der gesetzlichen Basis f\u00fcr die elektronische PDF-Lieferung wird der Erwerb entsprechender Lizenzen erforderlich: Neben der aufw\u00e4ndigen Umstrukturierung von IT-Systemen ist die Neugestaltung von Dienstleistungen und deren Preisstrukturen erforderlich, umfangreiche hausinterne Schulungsma\u00dfnahmen f\u00fcr Helpdesk und Kundenberatung sind ebenso notwendig wie Bereitstellung von juristischem Know-how f\u00fcr die Verhandlungen mit den Rechteinhabern.\n\nThis article deals with the operational problems confronting large libraries in seeking to fulfill their national mandate to provide access to information in their areas of specialization due to the enactment of Germany\u2019s new copyright law. The abolishment of a legal basis for providing electronic delivery of documents in PDF format has made it necessary to acquire the requisite licenses.
