F\u00fcr Zeitungen ist die ZDB der elektronische deutsche Gesamtkatalog, trotz der bekannten L\u00fccken im Nachweis. Das Datenformat der ZDB ist auf die besonderen Erfordernisse der formalen Zeitungserschlie\u00dfung ausgelegt und er\u00f6ffnet dem Nutzer zeitungsspezifische Recherchem\u00f6glichkeiten. Geplante Bestandserhaltungsma\u00dfnahmen und der Nachweis des Produkts als Mikroform oder Digitalisat stehen als Information zur Verf\u00fcgung. Daten zur erfolgten Bestandserhaltung werden an EROMM geliefert. Die Verkn\u00fcpfungstechnik erlaubt das Navigieren zwischen einzelnen zusammengeh\u00f6renden Titeln. F\u00fcr eine \u00fcbersichtlichere Darstellung sollen die Zusammenh\u00e4nge anhand von dynamisch generierten Zeitungsstammb\u00e4umen visualisiert werden. Neue Selektions- und Pr\u00e4sentationsformen mittels Kartensoftware f\u00fcr Verbreitungsorte und -gebiete sind geplant. \nThe German Serials Database (ZDB) contains serial publications from all countries and years of publication, in all languages and formats and serves as a national record of periodical holdings. For newspapers the ZDB is the electronic union catalogue of German holdings, despite the commonly known gaps in documentation. Its data format is adapted to the particular requirements of formal newspaper cataloging and provides the user with options appropriate for researching newspapers. The information provided also includes plans for conservation measures, and the existence of microform or digital copies. Details of completed preservation projects are provided to EROMM. Links enable the user to navigate between individually related titles. In order to provide a clear overview, the relationships are to be visually represented with dynamically generated newspaper genealogies.
