To support this view we present a typical exploratory data analysis scenario involving the combination of information from Gene Regulatory Networks and gene expression data. We further describe the implementation of this scenario using the Workflow Environment implemented in the context of a large EU funded project. In this process desirable features that similar environments should offer are identified and analyzed. The ICT platform presented is evaluated using the chosen scenario as a benchmark.
