We think use-case driven approach is particularly useful for the development. In the use-cases driven approach, use-cases are documented at the first stage in the software development process and they are used through the whole steps in a variety of ways. Therefore, it is important to exchange and share the usecases and make effective use of them through the overall lifecycle of a development process. In this paper, we propose a method of sharing and exchanging use-case models between applications, developers, and projects. We design an XML based exchange format for use-cases. We then discuss an application of the exchange format to support several software development activities. We preliminarily implemented a support system for objectoriented analysis based on the exchange format. The result shows that using the structural and semantic information in the exchange format enables the support system to assist the object-oriented analysis successfully.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-60750-928-8-109","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T08:25:19Z","timestamp":1740126319000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["An Exchange Format for Use-cases of Hospital Information Systems"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Masuda Gou","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Sakamoto Norihiro","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Sakai Rumi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Yamamoto Ryuichi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Studies in Health Technology and Informatics","MEDINFO 2001"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T09:17:16Z","timestamp":1740129436000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISSNISBN&issn=0926-9630&volume=84&spage=109"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2001]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-60750-928-8-109","relation":{},"ISSN":["0926-9630"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0926-9630","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2001]]}}}
