Clear evidence on how effective an electronically organized workflow will prove in reality, is still missing. In our approach three different scenarios were evaluated in a small Pilot-Trial with 103 Patients and analyzed in aspects of economics, user-friendliness and Technical\/Medicojuristical performance. The three scenarios consisted of a normal paper-based approach, a Browser\/Internet-based approach and an approach with Handheld-Devices being synchronized over the Internet. Overall, electronic data-management proved to be more efficient than the paper-based approach. Calculation of Economics showed, that Investments are very high with Handheld-Devices and economic benefits are hard to calculate. Using only Browser-based technics reduces Implementation Costs, but shows less workflow performance and enables the user not to generate “source data” in sense of FDA 21 CFR Part 11.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-60750-928-8-1419","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T08:25:19Z","timestamp":1740126319000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Economical and Technical\/Medicojuristical Aspects of Different Remote-Data-Entry Scenarios: A Project Study"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Elsner Christian","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Kottkamp Hans","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Went Tobias","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Hindricks Gerhard","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Studies in Health Technology and Informatics","MEDINFO 2001"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T09:09:37Z","timestamp":1740128977000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISSNISBN&issn=0926-9630&volume=84&spage=1419"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2001]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-60750-928-8-1419","relation":{},"ISSN":["0926-9630"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0926-9630","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2001]]}}}
