The paper deals with the description of the potential of having a system of emotional contagion, and proposes a simple implementation of it. An emotional index allows to build a mechanism which tends to align the emotional states of the robot and the human when a specific object is detected in the scene. Pursuing the idea of social interaction based on affect recognition, a first practical application capable of managing the emotional flow is described, involving both conceptual spaces and an emotional\/motivational model of cognitive architecture<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-60750-959-2-112","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,20]],"date-time":"2025-02-20T12:06:08Z","timestamp":1740053168000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":3,"title":["Vision and emotional flow in a cognitive architecture for human-machine interaction"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Gaglio S.","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Infantino I.","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Pilato G.","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Rizzo R.","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Vella F.","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications","Biologically Inspired Cognitive Architectures 2011"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,20]],"date-time":"2025-02-20T13:09:14Z","timestamp":1740056954000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISSNISBN&issn=0922-6389&volume=233&spage=112"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2011]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-60750-959-2-112","relation":{},"ISSN":["0922-6389"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"0922-6389"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2011]]}}}
