We propose to employ abstract argumentation for this purpose. Specifically, we present a translation of action domains from a specification language into Dung-style argumentation frameworks (AFs). As the key advantage of our approach, we use existing semantics for argumentation to make predictions about the domain in various manners and utilise existing results about argumentation to show that the approach can be efficiently implemented. This demonstrates the practical value not only of its theoretical results, but also abstract argumentation itself.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-61499-111-3-297","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T10:27:24Z","timestamp":1740133644000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Default Reasoning about Actions via Abstract Argumentation"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Baumann Ringo","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Strass Hannes","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications","Computational Models of Argument"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T11:39:45Z","timestamp":1740137985000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISSNISBN&issn=0922-6389&volume=245&spage=297"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2012]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-61499-111-3-297","relation":{},"ISSN":["0922-6389"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0922-6389","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2012]]}}}
