From the same glossary many ontologies might be developed depending on the strategy for extracting concepts, categorizing them, and determining hierarchical and some other relationships. Initially we use the ONTO6 methodology that allows identification of the most important aspects in the given domain. These identified aspects serve as the most general concepts in taxonomy (roots in the concept hierarchy). By applying natural language processing techniques and analyzing the discovered relations between concepts, an intermediate representation of lightweight ontology is created. Afterwards the lightweight ontology is exported to OWL format, stored in the ontology editor Protégé, and analyzed and refined by OWLGrEd – an UML style graphical editor for OWL that interoperates with Protégé. The obtained lightweight ontology might be useful for building up a heavyweight software testing ontology.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-61499-161-8-263","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T10:26:53Z","timestamp":1740133613000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["Semi-Automatic Generation of a Software Testing Lightweight Ontology from a Glossary Based on the ONTO6 Methodology"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Arnicans Guntis","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Romans Dainis","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Straujums Uldis","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications","Databases and Information Systems VII"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T10:53:09Z","timestamp":1740135189000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISSNISBN&issn=0922-6389&volume=249&spage=263"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2013]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-61499-161-8-263","relation":{},"ISSN":["0922-6389"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0922-6389","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2013]]}}}
