Normothermia (defined as >36°C) in the Operating Room (OR) is an important factor to preventing complications in patients (MI, infection, coagulopathy). Randomized studies suggests that maintaining at higher temperatures may further reduce complications in surgery (less complications for group at 36.4°C than the control group at 36.0°C) [1,2]. Perioperative normothermia is an important but often unrecognized element during anesthesia. Early recognition of hypothermia would allow for appropriate interventions and prevent complications.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-61499-289-9-943","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T14:45:03Z","timestamp":1740149103000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Validation of Computerized Sniffer for Monitoring Perioperative Normothermia"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Giri Jyothsna","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Li Man","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Pickering Brian","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Subramanian Arun","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Kor Daryl J.","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Herasevich Vitaly","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Studies in Health Technology and Informatics","MEDINFO 2013"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T15:27:44Z","timestamp":1740151664000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISSNISBN&issn=0926-9630&volume=192&spage=943"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2013]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-61499-289-9-943","relation":{},"ISSN":["0926-9630"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0926-9630","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2013]]}}}
