The burden on health care systems is extremely high, as treatment and diagnostic follow up has to be repeated in a regular manner. Whereas the treatment can only be applied in tertiary care centers (eye clinics), follow-up and management mainly depends on the OCT technology, which is becoming available at many field ophthalmologists' practices. This article describes the OphthalNet project, a network which optimizes collaboration between eye clinics and field ophthalmologists based on medical guidelines, workflow support and the future use of electronic infrastructure.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-61499-397-1-156","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T17:29:25Z","timestamp":1740158965000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["OphthalNet Vienna: Constructive Quality Assurance and Resource Optimization in Ophthalmology"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Mitsch Christoph","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Bolz Matthias","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Sacu Stefan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Vass Clemens","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Scholda Christoph","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Huber Patrick","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Sabutsch Stefan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"family":"Schmidt-Erfurth Ursula","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Studies in Health Technology and Informatics","eHealth2014 – Health Informatics Meets eHealth"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,21]],"date-time":"2025-02-21T18:02:11Z","timestamp":1740160931000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISSNISBN&issn=0926-9630&volume=198&spage=156"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2014]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-61499-397-1-156","relation":{},"ISSN":["0926-9630"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0926-9630","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2014]]}}}
