Such systems are used to detect and track pulsed laser radiation. The tracking system is capable of determining the position error of a received pulse and then to realign the quadrant detector centre. The purpose of this study was to test a position predicting algorithm, which used a neural network to track a signal in the presence of an additional signal and noise. The model was constructed using both simulated and experimentally obtained data from a quadrant detector.
