To formally define the notions of Beliefs, Desires and Intentions, different formal logics have been proposed in the literature. Although these proposals often refer to the work of Bratman [2], none, however, correctly capture the form of practical reasoning that Bratman describes. What is lacking, is a proper characterization of the agent's behavior. The formal logics proposed so far, do not allow for an adequate characterization of the refinement of behaviors that Bratman describes.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-61499-419-0-771","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,24]],"date-time":"2025-02-24T11:58:24Z","timestamp":1740398304000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["The semantics of behavior"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Roos Nico","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications","ECAI 2014"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,24]],"date-time":"2025-02-24T12:01:47Z","timestamp":1740398507000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISSNISBN&issn=0922-6389&volume=263&spage=771"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2014]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-61499-419-0-771","relation":{},"ISSN":["0922-6389"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0922-6389","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2014]]}}}
