The FE2TI approach is used in the project “EXASTEEL – Bridging Scales for Multiphase Steels” (within the German priority program “Software for Exascale Computing – SPPEXA”) for the simulation of modern dual-phase steels. This approach incorporates phenomena on the microscale into the macroscopic problem by solving many independent microscopic problems on representative volume elements (RVEs). The results on the RVEs replace a phenomenological material law on the macroscale. In order to bring large micro-macro simulations to modern supercomputers, in the FE2TI approach a highly scalable implementation of the inexact reduced FETI-DP (Finite Element Tearing and Interconnecting – Dual Primal) domain decomposition method (scalable up to 786432 Mira BlueGene\/Q cores) is used as a solver on the RVEs. Weak scalability results for the FE2TI method are presented, filling the complete JUQUEEN at JSC Jülich (458752 cores) and the complete Mira at Argonne National Laboratory (786432 cores).<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-61499-621-7-797","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,19]],"date-time":"2025-02-19T15:30:51Z","timestamp":1739979051000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["FE"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Klawonn Axel","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Lanser Martin","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Rheinbach Oliver","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Advances in Parallel Computing","Parallel Computing: On the Road to Exascale"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,19]],"date-time":"2025-02-19T15:42:55Z","timestamp":1739979775000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISBN&isbn=978-1-61499-620-0&spage=797&doi=10.3233\/978-1-61499-621-7-797"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2016]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-61499-621-7-797","relation":{},"ISSN":["0927-5452"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0927-5452","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2016]]}}}
