It presents regions especially vulnerable to politically motivated violence, debates types of threats in different countries, and describes their causes. It shows some examples of places which, in spite of having huge natural or cultural heritage, have lost their former importance as a tourism destination because of terrorist activities. The financial and social effects of the decline in the tourism industry is emphasized.
