To answer this question, the differences between the two manufacturing processes and the respective end products are first presented. Based on this presentation, a concept for the adaptation of the CAD models affected by the changeover is developed. The goal is a procedural change that is as complication-free as possible. At the end, the finished concept will be reviewed in terms of its utility and its applicability to a specific example. In addition, a boundary between the CAD model adaptation and a new design of the components is drawn in the sense of a stress-related design.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/978-1-61499-898-3-188","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,19]],"date-time":"2025-02-19T17:19:26Z","timestamp":1739985566000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Concept Development for CAD Model Adaptation to a Change from Injection Molding to Additive Manufacturing"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"family":"Bondar Sergej","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Eufinger Jens","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Stjepandić Josip","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"family":"Vetter Dominik","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Advances in Transdisciplinary Engineering","Transdisciplinary Engineering Methods for Social Innovation of Industry 4.0"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,19]],"date-time":"2025-02-19T17:41:44Z","timestamp":1739986904000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.medra.org\/servlet\/aliasResolver?alias=iospressISBN&isbn=978-1-61499-897-6&spage=188&doi=10.3233\/978-1-61499-898-3-188"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2018]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/978-1-61499-898-3-188","relation":{},"ISSN":["2352-751X"],"issn-type":[{"value":"2352-751X","type":"print"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2018]]}}}
