A fast compression search method for spreading codes is proposed in this paper. To compress the frequency search dimension, this paper proposes a multi-phase carrier search algorithm based on the partial-related code acquisition algorithm of FFT, as it aims at the randomness of each user carrier phase. A compression code search algorithm based on the correlation of each spreading code in the same family is proposed to accelerate the search of spreading codes. A code phase compressor is adopted to compress code phase. As the simulations suggest, the proposed method can perform fast spreading code search and code acquisition for DS_CDMA system. Under the code length of 2047, the algorithm can search the spreading code search and capture the code phase of all users in the balanced code family within 100s.
