However, only developed countries have well-defined policies despite the serious problems this type of waste generally causes. The present paper proposes a novel approach to define urban planning policies able to automatically infer the number of bins required in an urban area based on socio-economic and demographic factors. This is done by analysing open data from several Western cities.
