Countries and stakeholders (e.g., governments) spend billions of dollars on ensuring the continuity and security of their smart grids for strategic and operational reasons. In fact, the risk associated with compromising a smart grid is considered among the highest in the cybersecurity world. This paper surveys a group of well-known smart grid intrusion detection datasets that are used in the development of machine learning-based intrusion detection systems. The study presents an analysis of these datasets and provides recommendations for researchers utilizing them.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/aise230004","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2023,6,23]],"date-time":"2023-06-23T08:05:27Z","timestamp":1687507527000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":7,"title":["A Survey of Smart Grid Intrusion Detection Datasets"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-4324-1774","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Mohammed M.","family":"Alani","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Cybersecurity Research Lab, Toronto Metropolitan University, Toronto, Canada"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-5166-4873","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Thar","family":"Baker","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering, The University of Brighton, Brighton, UK"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments","Workshop Proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE2023)"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/AISE230004","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2023,6,23]],"date-time":"2023-06-23T22:18:12Z","timestamp":1687558692000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/AISE230004"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2023,6,22]]},"ISBN":["9781643684048","9781643684055"],"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/aise230004","relation":{},"ISSN":["1875-4163","1875-4171"],"issn-type":[{"value":"1875-4163","type":"print"},{"value":"1875-4171","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2023,6,22]]}}}
