Aligning terminology used in information literacy frameworks with the scientific method can provide a means of demonstrating the role of information literacy in STEM research. This paper maps the knowledge practices of the Association of College and Research Libraries Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education with an example of the scientific method. The resulting map provides an alignment of the different terminologies being used and visualizes the role of research skills throughout the process of conducting scientific research.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/efi-230036","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2023,4,21]],"date-time":"2023-04-21T12:42:44Z","timestamp":1682080964000},"page":"269-286","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Aligning information literacy terminology to STEM disciplinary language used in the scientific method"],"prefix":"10.1177","volume":"39","author":[{"given":"Brianna","family":"Buljung","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Teaching and Learning Librarian, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Seth","family":"Vuletich","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Scholarly Communications Librarian, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Lisa","family":"Dunn","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"STEM Research Librarian, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"179","reference":[{"issue":"6","key":"10.3233\/EFI-230036_ref2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","first-page":"503","DOI":"10.1080\/01930826.2015.1054770","article-title":"Curriculum mapping as a strategic planning tool","volume":"55","author":"Archambault","year":"2015","journal-title":"Journal of Library Administration"},{"issue":"1","key":"10.3233\/EFI-230036_ref6","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","first-page":"72","DOI":"10.1080\/0194262X.2018.1531805","article-title":"Information Has Value: Teaching with the ACRL Framework in a STEM Setting","volume":"38","author":"Boh\u00e9mier","year":"2019","journal-title":"Science & Technology Libraries"},{"issue":"1","key":"10.3233\/EFI-230036_ref7","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","first-page":"94","DOI":"10.1080\/13614533.2014.1001413","article-title":"Curriculum mapping in academic libraries","volume":"21","author":"Buchanan","year":"2015","journal-title":"New Review of Academic Librarianship"},{"key":"10.3233\/EFI-230036_ref8","unstructured":"Carroll, A.J., Chang, B.P., & Eskridge, H.N.
