A high penetration of renewables requires profound changes to the current energy distribution system. The conventional grid is increasingly becoming a bottleneck for expanding the share of RES because of its rigid architecture, which is built around centralized energy source. We propose a new energy exchange model for a routed energy distribution system, which can perform electricity routing based on smart routing algorithms and presented protocols. We utilize a concept of an energy router device that controls energy flows and utilizes protocols stack to smartly route the energy between houses in the grid. This paper describes current results with experimental network of Maui village with multiple houses interconnected through energy routers.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/faia200819","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2021,1,5]],"date-time":"2021-01-05T13:08:41Z","timestamp":1609852121000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Open Routed Energy Distribution Network Simulation for Maui Village Case Study"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"given":"Alexander","family":"Dudko","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"KEIO University, Graduate School of Media and Governance, Kanagawa, Japan"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Tatiana","family":"Endrjukaite","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Transport and Telecommunication Institute, Research Department, Riga, Latvia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Leon","family":"Roose","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Hawaiian Natural Energy Institute, University of Hawaii, Honolulu, US"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications","Information Modelling and Knowledge Bases XXXII"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"http:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/FAIA200819","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2021,1,5]],"date-time":"2021-01-05T13:08:42Z","timestamp":1609852122000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"http:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/FAIA200819"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2020,12,16]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/faia200819","relation":{},"ISSN":["0922-6389","1879-8314"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0922-6389","type":"print"},{"value":"1879-8314","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2020,12,16]]}}}
