The key idea is to share both ends of RGB-D frames between adjacent subsequences. We implemented a novel 3D reconstruction system based on a conventional one, Open3D, and compared the conventional method to the system with the shared frames. We experimented with four datasets: three public datasets and one our proposed dataset. The our proposed dataset has quicker camera movement than the public datasets and is challenging to reconstruct. Our experiments demonstrate that our system reconstructs better synthetic scenes from the challenging dataset as the number of the shared frames increases and scenes from the other dataset retain reconstruction quality.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/faia220273","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2022,9,16]],"date-time":"2022-09-16T09:08:17Z","timestamp":1663319297000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Evaluation of 3D Point-Cloud Reconstruction Using Overlapped Frames in Fragment Construction"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"given":"Yuta","family":"Shintomi","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Graduate Department of Information Technology and Project Management, University of Aizu, Aizuwakamatsu, Japan"}]},{"given":"Yohei","family":"Shimmyo","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Graduate Department of Computer and Information Systems, University of Aizu, Aizuwakamatsu, Japan"}]},{"given":"Yuichi","family":"Okuyama","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Graduate Department of Information Technology and Project Management, University of Aizu, Aizuwakamatsu, Japan"}]},{"given":"Satoshi","family":"Nishimura","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Graduate Department of Computer and Information Systems, University of Aizu, Aizuwakamatsu, Japan"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications","New Trends in Intelligent Software Methodologies, Tools and Techniques"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/FAIA220273","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2022,9,16]],"date-time":"2022-09-16T09:08:18Z","timestamp":1663319298000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/FAIA220273"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2022,9,14]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/faia220273","relation":{},"ISSN":["0922-6389","1879-8314"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0922-6389","type":"print"},{"value":"1879-8314","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2022,9,14]]}}}
