We investigated multi-task learning (MTL), Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA), and its quantized version (QLoRA). Results show that the MTL framework, combined with LoRA and QLoRA, excels in prediction while optimizing resource use. Error analysis in the Reason field of TWPJD dataset was conducted to guide future predictions. Future work will focus on balancing sub-task performance and collecting more investigative data to enhance legal AI applications.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/faia241253","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,12,6]],"date-time":"2024-12-06T00:00:52Z","timestamp":1733443252000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Prosecutorial Outcome Predication with LoRA and QLoRA"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0000-0441-0363","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Kuo-Chun","family":"Chien","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept. of Computer Science & Information Engineering, National Central University, Taiwan"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1101-6337","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Chia-Hui","family":"Chang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept. of Computer Science & Information Engineering, National Central University, Taiwan"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0005-4048-6150","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Huai-Hsuan","family":"Huang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept. of Computer Science & Information Engineering, National Central University, Taiwan"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0006-1875-2122","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Jo-Chi","family":"Kung","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept. of Computer Science & Information Engineering, National Central University, Taiwan"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications","Legal Knowledge and Information Systems"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/FAIA241253","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2024,12,6]],"date-time":"2024-12-06T00:00:53Z","timestamp":1733443253000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/FAIA241253"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2024,12,5]]},"ISBN":["9781643685625"],"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/faia241253","relation":{},"ISSN":["0922-6389","1879-8314"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0922-6389","type":"print"},{"value":"1879-8314","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2024,12,5]]}}}
