These interconnected dimensions are explored through four talks. The first talk lays the groundwork by analyzing the different styles people may adopt to model the mind of robots. On these grounds, the second talk focuses on the role that emotion attribution to robots has in shaping our interactions with social robots. The third talk deals with robots\u2019 decision-making capabilities in the context of social assistive robotics, with an eye to ethical implications. The fourth talk closes the panel, investigating how an enactive conception of intentionality impacts both our understanding of human-robot interaction and the design of robotic interfaces and architectures.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/faia241558","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,5]],"date-time":"2025-02-05T13:52:47Z","timestamp":1738763567000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Mind (and) the Robot: On the Epistemology and Ethics of the Attribution of Mental States to Robots"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0006-2749-1411","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Silvia","family":"Larghi","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"RobotiCSS Lab, University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy"}]},{"given":"Edoardo","family":"Datteri","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Philosophy, University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy"}]},{"given":"Giacomo","family":"Zanotti","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Electronics, Politecnico di Milano, Italy"}]},{"given":"Marco","family":"Facchin","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Digital Humanities, University of Antwerp, Belgium"}]},{"given":"Ilaria","family":"Alfieri","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department for Visual and Media Studies, IULM University, Milan, Italy"}]},{"given":"Maria","family":"Raffa","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department for Visual and Media Studies, IULM University, Milan, Italy"}]},{"given":"Martina","family":"Bacaro","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept of Philosophy and Dept of Computer Science, University of Bologna, Italy"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications","Social Robots with AI: Prospects, Risks, and Responsible Methods"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/FAIA241558","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,5]],"date-time":"2025-02-05T13:52:47Z","timestamp":1738763567000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/FAIA241558"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,4]]},"ISBN":["9781643685670","9781643685687"],"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/faia241558","relation":{},"ISSN":["0922-6389","1879-8314"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0922-6389","type":"print"},{"value":"1879-8314","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,4]]}}}
