This poster presents an early-stage project developing a four-phase pipeline to extract unwritten sentencing rules from Czech higher court decisions. The methodology combines: (i) thematic analysis for reasoning pattern identification, (ii) LLM-Based rule extraction and classification of rules (iii) cross-decision semantic matching and citation network analysis, and (iv) planned expert validation with criminal law scholars. The pipeline aims to reveal how principles emerge and propagate across the court hierarchy, from district courts to the Supreme Court. This work will provide the first systematic mapping of Czech implicit sentencing rules and a transferable methodology for other criminal law jurisdictions.
[[2025,12,4
["Extracting Unwritten Sentencing Rules from Czech Higher Courts’ Verdicts
["Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications","Legal Knowledge and Information Systems
[[2025,12,4
[[2025,12,2
9781643686387
["0922-6389","1879-8314
[[2025,12,2]]}}}
