Like in general multi-agent systems, the agents in the holonic system may negotiate with each other. These systems have their own characteristics and structure, for which a specific negotiation mechanism is required. This mechanism should be simple, fast and operable in real world applications. It would be better to equip negotiators with a learning method which can efficiently use the available information. The learning method should itself be fast, too. Additionally, this mechanism should match the special characteristics of the holonic multi-agent systems. In this paper, we introduce such a negotiation method. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of this new approach.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/ifs-120757","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2019,12,2]],"date-time":"2019-12-02T17:56:34Z","timestamp":1575309394000},"page":"655-666","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/sage-journals-update-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":5,"title":["HOMAN, a learning based negotiation method for holonic multi-agent systems"],"prefix":"10.1177","volume":"26","author":[{"given":"Rahmatollah","family":"Beheshti","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Computer Engineering, Iran University of Science and Technology, Narmak, Tehran, Iran"}]},{"given":"Nasser","family":"Mozayani","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Computer Engineering, Iran University of Science and Technology, Narmak, Tehran, Iran"}]}],"member":"179","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2014,1]]},"container-title":["Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.3233\/IFS-120757","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.3233\/IFS-120757","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2026,2,11]],"date-time":"2026-02-11T11:46:46Z","timestamp":1770810406000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/10.3233\/IFS-120757"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2014,1]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"2","published-print":{"date-parts":[[2014,2]]}},"alternative-id":["10.3233\/IFS-120757"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/ifs-120757","relation":{},"ISSN":["1064-1246","1875-8967"],"issn-type":[{"value":"1064-1246","type":"print"},{"value":"1875-8967","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2014,1]]}}}
