Recently, applications tend to be Object Oriented (OO). Within the context of OO, there are a lot of interactions among different objects that result in many communication activities. Besides the feed-forward communication activities, many bypassing activities are generated in the pipeline structure.<\/jats:p>\n                  <jats:p>In this paper, we present a performance model that analyzes and evaluates the execution and communication times of OO software that runs on pipeline architecture. The model realizes both the feed-forward and the bypassing communication. We utilize the model to restructure the target software to achieve better performance. The restructuring algorithm has two phases; the first phase is concerned with maximizing the throughput. The second phase aims to minimize the latency and fully exploit the system resources.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/jcm-2006-6s106","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2019,4,25]],"date-time":"2019-04-25T06:34:14Z","timestamp":1556174054000},"page":"S59-S71","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["Performance-based modeling and restructuring of object oriented software for pipeline architecture"],"prefix":"10.66113","volume":"6","author":[{"given":"Amal","family":"Abdel-Raouf","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Computer Science Department, Southern Connecticut University, New Haven, CT 06515, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Reda A.","family":"Ammar","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Computer Science Department, Southern Connecticut University, New Haven, CT 06515, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Tahany A.","family":"Fergany","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Computer Science Department, Southern Connecticut University, New Haven, CT 06515, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"55691","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2006,1,1]]},"container-title":["Journal of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.3233\/JCM-2006-6S106","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.3233\/JCM-2006-6S106","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2026,4,21]],"date-time":"2026-04-21T22:06:11Z","timestamp":1776809171000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/10.3233\/JCM-2006-6S106"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2006,1]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"1_suppl","published-print":{"date-parts":[[2006,1]]}},"alternative-id":["10.3233\/JCM-2006-6S106"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/jcm-2006-6s106","relation":{},"ISSN":["1472-7978","1875-8983"],"issn-type":[{"value":"1472-7978","type":"print"},{"value":"1875-8983","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2006,1]]}}}
