We first define the concept of approximations based on lattice-theoretic operators, and the properties of them are discussed. In order to overcome the two shortcomings in the former approximations, we present the concept of approximations based on set-theoretic operators. The study can help further understanding of data analysis using rough set theory and formal concept analysis.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/jifs-16318","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2017,12,1]],"date-time":"2017-12-01T12:29:35Z","timestamp":1512131375000},"page":"3459-3467","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/sage-journals-update-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["The approximations in rough concept lattice and approximable concept lattice"],"prefix":"10.1177","volume":"33","author":[{"given":"Qimei","family":"Xiao","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Mathematics and Statistics,Changsha University of Science and Technology, Changsha, Hunan,P.R.
