In this paper, we propose two new signed distances between interval type-2 trapezoidal fuzzy numbers (IT2 TrFNs) and some properties of their have been introduced. We also give an approach to construct similarity measures using the signed distance for IT2 TrFNs. Several illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of the proposed
