HFS has recently become very popular between researchers who are working on variants of fuzzy logic. This paper highlights the research queries related to the Scientometric analysis of HFS by studying 410 research publications from the Web of Science (v.5.31) database (from inception of Web of Science online data till 2017). This paper answers questions pertaining to the important terms and concepts for HFS, co-authorship patterns in HFS, dominating research areas of HFS, and countries with maximum research paper contribution, co-citation patterns for first authors and bibliographical coupling for organizations. A brief outline of the citation analysis is also made in the form of a sub-section.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/jifs-179435","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2019,8,30]],"date-time":"2019-08-30T13:27:07Z","timestamp":1567171627000},"page":"619-626","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/sage-journals-update-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":7,"title":["Scientometric inspection of research progression in hesitant fuzzy sets"],"prefix":"10.1177","volume":"38","author":[{"given":"Sonakshi","family":"Vij","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of CSE, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, India"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Amita","family":"Jain","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of CSE, Ambedkar Institute of Advanced Communication Technologies and Research, India"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Devendra","family":"Tayal","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of CSE, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, India"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Oscar","family":"Castillo","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Division of Graduate Studies and Research, Tijuana Institute of Technology, Mexico"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"179","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2019,8,27]]},"reference":[{"issue":"2","key":"e_1_3_1_2_2","article-title":"An Analytical Insight to Investigate the Research Patterns in the Realm of Type-2 Fuzzy Logic","volume":"12","author":"Vij S.","year":"2018","unstructured":"VijS., JainA., TayalD. and CastilloO., An Analytical Insight to Investigate the Research Patterns in the Realm of Type-2 Fuzzy Logic, Journal of Automation, Mobile Robotics & Intelligent Systems 12(2) (2018).","journal-title":"Journal of Automation, Mobile Robotics & Intelligent Systems"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_3_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1002\/int.21654"},{"issue":"6","key":"e_1_3_1_4_2","first-page":"529","article-title":"Hesitant fuzzy sets","volume":"25","author":"Torra V.","year":"2010","unstructured":"TorraV., Hesitant fuzzy sets, International Journal of Intelligent Systems 25(6) (2010), 529\u2013539.","journal-title":"International Journal of Intelligent Systems"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_5_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TFUZZ.2011.2170076"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_6_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.ijar.2010.09.002"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_7_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.ins.2011.01.028"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_8_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.knosys.2012.03.011"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_9_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.ins.2012.01.048"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_10_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1002\/int.20474"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_11_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.ins.2013.04.006"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_12_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.ins.2014.02.125"},{"key":"e_1_3_1_13_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1007\/s10726-011-9261-7"}],"container-title":["Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.3233\/JIFS-179435","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/full-xml\/10.3233\/JIFS-179435","content-type":"application\/xml","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.3233\/JIFS-179435","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2026,4,29]],"date-time":"2026-04-29T09:40:04Z","timestamp":1777455604000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/10.3233\/JIFS-179435"}},"subtitle":[],"editor":[{"given":"Cengiz","family":"Kahraman","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"editor","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2019,8,27]]},"references-count":12,"journal-issue":{"issue":"1","published-print":{"date-parts":[[2020,1,9]]}},"alternative-id":["10.3233\/JIFS-179435"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/jifs-179435","relation":{},"ISSN":["1064-1246","1875-8967"],"issn-type":[{"value":"1064-1246","type":"print"},{"value":"1875-8967","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2019,8,27]]}}}
