To explore this topic, qualitative interviews were conducted with 15 HHC clinicians in the Northeastern USA. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify key themes emerging from the interviews. While some EHR benefits were recognized, overall satisfaction with the EHR was low. The results suggest EHR limitations are tied to poor usability, restrictions, and redundancy in documentation leading to increased documentation workload. Clinicians have recommendations to mitigate these limitations via additional EHR functions and better patient risk detection. Future stakeholders should consider the results of this study when developing and updating the EHR in HHC.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/shti210763","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2021,12,17]],"date-time":"2021-12-17T10:00:24Z","timestamp":1639735224000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":4,"title":["Home Healthcare Clinicians\u2019 Perspectives on Electronic Health Records: A Qualitative Study"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"given":"Mollie","family":"Hobensack","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Columbia University School of Nursing, New York, New York, USA"},{"name":"Visiting Nurse Services of New York, New York, USA"}]},{"given":"Marietta","family":"Ojo","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Visiting Nurse Services of New York, New York, USA"}]},{"given":"Kathryn","family":"Bowles","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Visiting Nurse Services of New York, New York, USA"},{"name":"University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA"}]},{"given":"Margaret","family":"McDonald","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA"}]},{"given":"Jiyoun","family":"Song","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Columbia University School of Nursing, New York, New York, USA"}]},{"given":"Maxim","family":"Topaz","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Columbia University School of Nursing, New York, New York, USA"},{"name":"Visiting Nurse Services of New York, New York, USA"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Studies in Health Technology and Informatics","Nurses and Midwives in the Digital Age"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI210763","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2021,12,17]],"date-time":"2021-12-17T10:00:27Z","timestamp":1639735227000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI210763"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2021,12,15]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/shti210763","relation":{},"ISSN":["0926-9630","1879-8365"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0926-9630","type":"print"},{"value":"1879-8365","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2021,12,15]]}}}
