However, the burden of the pandemic has not been distributed equally among members of a population based on their social-determinants-of-health. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the median income was associated with COVID-19 total number of tests and positivity rate in Boone County, Missouri during the pandemic. We analyzed the geospatial data using three heat maps showing the Census tract-wise COVID-19 positivity rate, Census tract-wise median income, and Census tract-wise total number of COVID-19 tests to highlight our study findings. Our study results support the hypothesis that individuals with lower median income tend to have a lower total number of COVID-19 tests and higher COVID-19 positivity rates in Boone County, Missouri. The Pearson correlation coefficient between the positivity rate and median income is -0.324.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/shti231180","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]],"date-time":"2024-01-25T10:28:07Z","timestamp":1706178487000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Exploring the Geospatial Relationship Between COVID-19 Positivity and Income in Mixed Urban-Rural Population"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-5880-2450","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Butros M.","family":"Dahu","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocab":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-8059-9783","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Solaiman","family":"Khan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocab":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1586-1474","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Lincoln R.","family":"Sheets","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocab":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-5870-9387","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Grant J.","family":"Scott","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocab":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Studies in Health Technology and Informatics","MEDINFO 2023 \u2014 The Future Is Accessible"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI231180","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]],"date-time":"2024-01-25T10:28:08Z","timestamp":1706178488000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI231180"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]]},"ISBN":["9781643684567","9781643684574"],"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/shti231180","relation":{},"ISSN":["0926-9630","1879-8365"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"0926-9630"},{"type":"electronic","value":"1879-8365"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]]}}}
