However, researchers and developers face several challenges in selecting the best-suited PROMs for patient-facing technologies, due to the complex nature of the disease, the multitude of PROMs with high psychometric quality, and the lack of clear standards for PROM utilization. In this paper, we have discussed these challenges, illustrated by breast cancer instruments.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/shti231230","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]],"date-time":"2024-01-25T10:29:28Z","timestamp":1706178568000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Challenges in Selecting Patient-Reported Outcome Measures for Use in a Patient-Facing Technology"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-1947-0857","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Priyank","family":"Raj","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Houston, Texas, US"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-1381-652X","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Youmin","family":"Cho","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Houston, Texas, US"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-6737-5016","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Yun","family":"Jiang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, US"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-0864-8368","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Yang","family":"Gong","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Houston, Texas, US"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Studies in Health Technology and Informatics","MEDINFO 2023 \u2014 The Future Is Accessible"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI231230","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]],"date-time":"2024-01-25T10:29:29Z","timestamp":1706178569000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI231230"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]]},"ISBN":["9781643684567","9781643684574"],"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/shti231230","relation":{},"ISSN":["0926-9630","1879-8365"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"0926-9630"},{"type":"electronic","value":"1879-8365"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]]}}}
