We determined the bias in estimating predictive performance of different combinations of approaches for handling missing data across validation and implementation. We found four strategies that are compatible across the model pipeline and have provided recommendations for handling missing data between model validation and implementation under different missingness mechanisms.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/shti231252","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]],"date-time":"2024-01-25T10:30:41Z","timestamp":1706178641000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["Compatibility in Missing Data Handling Across the Prediction Model Pipeline: A Simulation Study"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-1875-1921","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Antonia","family":"Tsvetanova","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Centre for Health Informatics, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, University of Manchester, Manchester, England, UK"}]},{"given":"Matthew","family":"Sperrin","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Centre for Health Informatics, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, University of Manchester, Manchester, England, UK"}]},{"given":"David","family":"Jenkins","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Centre for Health Informatics, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, University of Manchester, Manchester, England, UK"}]},{"given":"Niels","family":"Peek","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Centre for Health Informatics, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, University of Manchester, Manchester, England, UK"},{"name":"The Christabel Pankhurst Institute for Health Technology Research and Innovation, University of Manchester, Manchester, England, UK"}]},{"given":"Iain","family":"Buchan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Institute of Population Health, University of Liverpool, Liverpool, England, UK"}]},{"given":"Stephanie","family":"Hyland","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Microsoft Research Cambridge, Cambridge, England, UK"}]},{"given":"Glen","family":"Martin","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Centre for Health Informatics, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, University of Manchester, Manchester, England, UK"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Studies in Health Technology and Informatics","MEDINFO 2023 \u2014 The Future Is Accessible"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI231252","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]],"date-time":"2024-01-25T10:30:42Z","timestamp":1706178642000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI231252"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]]},"ISBN":["9781643684567","9781643684574"],"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/shti231252","relation":{},"ISSN":["0926-9630","1879-8365"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"0926-9630"},{"type":"electronic","value":"1879-8365"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,25]]}}}
