A rule-based heartbeat detection was developed to enable the derivation of health parameters independent of an existing reference. This paper outlines the algorithm\u2019s methodology and provides an initial evaluation of its performance based on seismocardiographic (SCG) measurements obtained from an initial study involving twelve heart-healthy adults. On average, 87.6% of the heartbeats over all measurements, 97.6% of the heartbeats at rest and 71.9% of the heartbeats during physical stress could be detected.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/shti240456","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,8,23]],"date-time":"2024-08-23T09:20:07Z","timestamp":1724404807000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["DR.BEAT: Rule-Based Algorithm for SCG Analysis Without ECG Reference"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1701-6602","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Marie Cathrine","family":"Pickert","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Peter L.
