However, the absence of a structured data pipeline undermines the reproducibility and transparency of studies relying on MAUDE data. In response, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of a recent study on endoscopic clips, assessing methodologies and results. We advocate for implementing an extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipeline, utilizing openFDA and integrating keyword search strategies and data visualization techniques. This approach aims to enhance the quality of MAUDE-based studies, ensuring their reproducibility and transparency. Moreover, ETL serves as a cornerstone in data engineering, enabling real-time data management and quality assurance, thus promoting the sustainability and collaboration of MAUDE-based patient safety research.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3233\/shti240629","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,8,23]],"date-time":"2024-08-23T10:07:17Z","timestamp":1724407637000},"source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["A Data Pipeline for Enhancing Quality of MAUDE-Based Studies"],"prefix":"10.3233","author":[{"given":"Yuheng","family":"Shi","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Houston, Texas, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Yue","family":"Yu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Houston, Texas, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Yubo","family":"Feng","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-0864-8368","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Yang","family":"Gong","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Houston, Texas, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"7437","container-title":["Studies in Health Technology and Informatics","Digital Health and Informatics Innovations for Sustainable Health Care Systems"],"original-title":[],"link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/pdf\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI240629","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2024,8,23]],"date-time":"2024-08-23T10:07:18Z","timestamp":1724407638000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/ebooks.iospress.nl\/doi\/10.3233\/SHTI240629"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2024,8,22]]},"ISBN":["9781643685335"],"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3233\/shti240629","relation":{},"ISSN":["0926-9630","1879-8365"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"0926-9630"},{"type":"electronic","value":"1879-8365"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2024,8,22]]}}}
