It provides educational information about HIV and STIs, raises awareness about minority stress (e.g., due to sexual identity), and builds skills for condom use, emotion regulation, communication between participants and their family and potential partners, and negotiating interpersonal and substance-related risk. Our study team added content related to pre-exposure prophylaxis and updated the mobile app. Following the content updates, we conducted a rigorous usability assessment composed of a heuristic evaluation and end-user testing. Overall, our study findings informed revisions to the app to improve usability.
