The method presented is model-based, it makes use of velocity correction and differential kinematics integration in order to compute the system configuration. The convergence of the model towards the measurements is proved using Lyapunov analysis. An experimental scenario, where the motion of a human subject is tracked in static and dynamic configurations, is used to validate the inverse kinematics method performance on human and humanoid models. Moreover, the method is tested on a human-humanoid retargeting scenario, verifying the usability of the computed solution in real-time robotics applications. Our approach is evaluated both in terms of accuracy and computational load, and compared to iterative optimization algorithms.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.3390\/a13100266","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2020,10,20]],"date-time":"2020-10-20T09:28:23Z","timestamp":1603186103000},"page":"266","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/mdpi_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":24,"title":["Model-Based Real-Time Motion Tracking Using Dynamical Inverse Kinematics"],"prefix":"10.3390","volume":"13","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-3071-9676","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Lorenzo","family":"Rapetti","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Dynamic Interaction Control, Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, 16163 Genoa, Italy"},{"name":"Machine Learning and Optimisation, The University of Manchester, Manchester M13 9PL, UK"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-0467-0074","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Yeshasvi","family":"Tirupachuri","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dynamic Interaction Control, Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, 16163 Genoa, Italy"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-4984-432X","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Kourosh","family":"Darvish","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dynamic Interaction Control, Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, 16163 Genoa, Italy"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1575-5188","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Stefano","family":"Dafarra","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dynamic Interaction Control, Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, 16163 Genoa, Italy"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-8965-2934","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Gabriele","family":"Nava","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dynamic Interaction Control, Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, 16163 Genoa, Italy"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-4792-4588","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Claudia","family":"Latella","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dynamic Interaction Control, Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, 16163 Genoa, Italy"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-7600-3203","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Daniele","family":"Pucci","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dynamic Interaction Control, Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, 16163 Genoa, Italy"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"1968","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2020,10,20]]},"reference":[{"key":"ref_1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","unstructured":"Dariush, B., Gienger, M., Arumbakkam, A., Goerick, C., Zhu, Y., and Fujimura, K.
